1. Congratulations to the following track athletes for qualifying for the State Track meet next weekend: Ava Koch qualified in both the long jump and triple jump. Ava also set the school record in the triple jump yesterday. Kayton Werner will be competing in the discus. Kayton also set the school record in the discus. Jarett Werner qualified in the triple jump. Landon Meyer qualified in the 300m hurdles. Kyndal Werner qualified in the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. Korbin Werner qualified in the discus. Mazzy Kuchar qualified in both the 1600m and 3200m runs. The boys 4x800m relay team qualified. Running on the relay are Brecken Penne, Kohl Rutjens, Davis Rutjens and Evan Decker. The girls 4x400m relay team also qualified. Running on that team are Kyndal Werner, Brenna Lawson, Willow Taake and Kinley Poulsen and their time is a new school record in the 4x400 relay! Wow and congratulations state qualifiers and all of the EV track athletes and coaches on a remarkable day!!
2. There will be an FCCLA meeting today at 2:30 in Mrs. Knust’s room for anyone in grades 8-11 who is interested in joining. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Knust.
3. There will be a boys’ basketball meeting after school today in the library.
4. Good luck to the boys golf team as they compete at the District Meet on Monday, May 18, at Fairplay Golf Course in Norfolk!!
5. There will be a volleyball meeting on Monday, May 18, during AC for girls going out for high school volleyball next year. We will meet in the library.
6. There will be a meeting for girls in grades 8-11 going out for HS basketball next year on Monday after school in Mr. Dittmer's room. There will be a meeting for 7th grade girls going out of basketball next year during AC on Monday in Mrs. Black's room.
7. There will be a meeting for all those participating in One Act for next year next Tuesday morning at 7:45 in Mr. Wickizer's room.
8. Just a reminder that the Elementary Fun Day is scheduled for today at Horseshoe Bend Park. Grades K-2 will enjoy their games and activities from 9:00 to 11:00 followed by a hotdog picnic. Grades 3 through 6 will join the K-2 students for lunch and then have their fun in the afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00.
9. Parents are encouraged to watch their child’s lunch account balance and be sure that there is not a negative balance as the phone call reminders will continue throughout the summer. ; )
